I've just wrapped my interview with Stacy Gist. It's a long one. We met at Lone Star Grille in Cedar Park. If you haven't had the Spicy Sriracha Burger you need to.
It was great to talk to Stacy about his experiences in Lexington and in Hutto. He's a great guy and an excellent teacher. What's more is that he gets it. Travis' interview is now in the can and ready to post to SoundCloud and iTunes.
Episode 2 will be coming September 1. Stay tuned! I've finally managed to snag Stacy Gist and I'll be meeting with him this coming Sunday. We'll be talking about his time in Lexington and how those experiences have played a role in the success he now enjoys at Hutto. Episode three comes out in October. After a stumble a couple of days ago, the podcast is back on SoundCloud and has been resubmitted to iTunes. It should be up again in the iTunes store soon. Stay tuned for episode two coming in early September. Thanks for listening!
The podcast is now available on iTunes. Check it out!
https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/teaching-band-in-small-town-texas/id1271270461 After many hours yesterday working to create a website and discovering how an RSS feed works, the podcast is now pending approval in iTunes. I'll post the link here when it becomes available. In the meantime, you can find the podcast on soundcloud by clicking the link below the photos on the homepage or here in the blog. It's my first go at something like this so I'm sure that by professional standards it's a little rough. The learning curve on this was very steep.
Episode 1: I talk with Beth Morrison, the longtime director at Thrall High School. In a wide ranging conversation we talk candidly about the unique challenges of teaching in rural schools and how she achieves balance in her life while at the same time facilitating success for her students.
